Ear massage releases brain endorphins, boosts the immune cells in the body, reduces feelings of stress or anxiety, releases toxins, improves circulation, relaxes the body, promotes general well being and can also help relieve a headache.
You don’t have to be a massage therapist to give an effective ear massage. It’s possible to receive all of the amazing benefits from ear massage by giving yourself one. Below is a “tune-up” ear massage that will assist with your overall wellbeing.
Complete “Tune-Up” Ear Massage:
Step 1. Sit comfortably with your back braced against the back of your chair, feet flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart. Be sure to sit up straight and relaxed.
Step 2. Grasp your ear lobes between your thumb and forefingers. Slowly begin kneading/rolling your ear lobe between your fingers. Continue for 30 seconds -1 minute
Step 3. Slowly and carefully pull on your earlobes working towards the top of your ears and back to the earlobe. Continue for 30 second – 1 minute.
Step 4. Rub your hands together vigorously to warm your hands. Place your hands lightly over your ears with your fingertips pointing behind you. Hold for a few seconds.
Step 5. Using your finger tips, tap all over the top of your head. Continue for 15 seconds.
Step 6. Close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly taking nice deep breaths. Continue 5-10 times.
Use this routine throughout your day to relieve stress, tension and anxiety, increase energy, improve focus and attention and to stimulate the brain.
