Bodywork is one of the best ways to prepare for any fitness, sporting, or life event. I have been in the fitness and training world for the last ten years and have incorporated bodywork in the last three years. Allow me to help you prepare for success with my collection of modalities that aid in sports preparation, injury prevention, and injury repair.
My specialties are myofascial release, trigger point therapy and sports massage. I use myofascial release to relax the muscle and reset the fascia attached to it. This modality uses very light pressure. For knots that are built up, I use trigger point therapy. By applying concentrated pressure to the area, the knot is released and allows the muscle fibers to unwind. These two modalities are great tools to help with carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, thoracic outlet syndrome, as well as hand and arm tingling.
I also incorporate active assisted stretches and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). These stretches increase blood flow, range of motion, and help bring the muscles back to their normal tones. PNF also increases the mind-muscle connection.
